OH! Walt, we share a soul!

To A STRANGER
by Walt Whitman (1819-1892)

Passing stranger! you do not know how longingly I look upon you,
You must be he I was seeking, or she I was seeking, (it comes to me as of a dream,)
I have somewhere surely lived a life of joy with you,
All is recall'd as we flit by each other, fluid, affectionate, chaste, matured,
You grew up with me, were a boy with me or a girl with me,
I ate with you and slept with you, your body has become not yours only nor left my body mine only,
You give me the pleasure of your eyes, face, flesh, as we pass, you take of my beard, breast, hands, in return,
I am not to speak to you, I am to think of you when I sit alone or wake at night alone,
I am to wait, I do not doubt I am to meet you again,
I am to see to it that I do not lose you.

Walt Whitman is one of my absolute favorites. I love poetry, you're making me remember that! HA.

Yep, gay bff's are the best, seriously. Always there and not trying to get in your pants! :)

Hope you're having a goodnight girlie! xoxo

Another hefty poem. I got to remember not to start my day reading your poetry blog but rather save it to unwind after work with.

I like how Whitman indicates that even strangers might become affectionate friends.

He is able to imagine himself creating a past history with a passing stranger and to foresee the opportunities for them to enjoy each other.

Much like the friends one can make blogging. :)

Elizabeth Marie: I know feel for his words a while ago. Yes my Marcos is the best and you can talk to them about everything...and I mean everything!!

Iggy:I like starting and ending my day with poetry. It makes me happy that you like this blog, most of my friends don't get my passion of poetry.
I find myself doing that sometimes, which is why I choose this poem. It is alot like the friends you make while blogging *Smiles!!*
